Agartala, 4th November 2024:   Residents of Matinagar and Panchnalia have voiced serious concerns about widespread corruption in the road construction on the Sonamura-Boxanagar road. The locals have expressed their anger and frustration, accusing contractors of misappropriating government funds.

“Corruption seems to be synonymous with development in Boxanagar,” one local complained. They claim the contractors are executing the road work so poorly that the black coating peels off the red soil with minimal contact. “When you touch it, red soil comes out,” another resident pointed out, highlighting the substandard quality of the work.

In a public demonstration of their grievances, the locals gathered today to raise their complaints against the contractors in front of journalists. The residents are calling for immediate action to address the corruption and ensure proper standards in the road construction.
