Agartala, 20th March 2024 :  The nomination process for the Lok Sabha election has already started today, with one independent candidate submitting his nomination paper before the Returning Officer of the West Parliamentary Seat, Dr. Vishal Kumar.

This marks the first nomination paper submitted for the election.  Speaking with reporters, Returning Officer Dr. Vishal Kumar stated that the filing of nominations has commenced today and will continue until March 27.

“We have received one nomination from Milan Pada Murasingh from Santirbazar. The nomination process will run from 11 AM to 3 PM daily. He is contesting independently,” Dr. Kumar remarked.

Subsequently, Milan Pada Murasingh mentioned that he had been associated with the BJP since 2014 and was a candidate for the East Parliamentary seat.

“However, the situation changed after Biplab Kumar Deb became President of the BJP in 2017. Following his appointment, we were asked to resign from all positions and were not given any responsibilities within the party. As old BJP workers, we feel deprived,” Murasingh expressed.
