Agartala, September 05, 2022: Longtharai International Private Limited on Monday organized 61st Teachers’ Day celebration programme at Agartala Press Club. The programme was attended by the Education minister Ratanlal Nath, Tripura University’s Vice-Chancellor Prof Ganga Prasad Prasain, Prinicipal of Ramkrishna Mission managed ITI at Viveknagar Swami Bedangananda Maharaj and Managing Director of Longtharai International Private Limited Ratan Debnath.
Addressing the gathering, Education minister Nath said “On behalf of state government, I am thanking the owner of Longtharai International Private Limited Ratan Debnath for this industry. The present government’s main target is ‘Job Creator’ not ‘Job Seeker’ and plan to make Tripura self-reliant. With these slogans, the country and the state are approaching towards ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Tripura’. And to make ‘Ek Tripura Shrestha Tripura’, if the upcoming generation i.e. students are not nurtured in a proper way, our dream cannot be achieved. Our government’s main focus is Education and we have incorporated various new schemes and adopted new measures through which our students will be at par and compete with other states.”
Quoting one of the sayings of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan on ‘Ideal teachers are those persons who teach the students to think’, he said “How appropriate this saying is, it is absolutely applicable for Ratan Debnath, who is a burning example of this state. He studied Engineering in Pune and thought of doing something new and innovative. Our government focused on teaching innovative thoughts. After studying Engineering, he opened Annada fertilizers and agrochemicals, Shova Enterprise, Annada Spices Industry and Longtharai Logistics – all these four initiatives are taken under the umbrella of Longtharai International Private Limited.”
“People should think of innovative idea. We are trying on that direction with the introduction of IT, Agriculture, electronics and hardwares, ICT project at the school level. Attempts are to be made for ‘Atmanirbhar’ and people have started thinking in that direction. The Managing Director of LIPL Debnath also stood beside miserable people, poor people, help poverty-trodden families to get their daughters married, support orphans, etc. Almost every year, he is conferred with the Outstanding Entrepreneurship Award of Tripura”, he told the gathering.
Speaking at the programme, Managing Director Ratan Debnath said “I am the first person in my family to achieve graduation degree in B.Sc. I express my heartfelt gratitude toward my parents as I have been able to reach this position due to their immense support and blessing. My parents gave me some money, I went to Pune for higher studies. I was in dilemma in taking decision whether to take admission as I was alone there. Later I returned to Tripura and took admission in MBB College. One good thing took place in Pune, many people have come to know about the state of Tripura in 1995. Accordingly, I gave the name ‘Longtharai’ to recognize my homeland state ‘Tripura’. From 1997, I started my business with agriculture, gradually introduced biofertilizer unit, spices industry, etc. There has been remarkable changes in the Education system. In my establishment, many youths with degrees of MA, B.Tech, M.Tech, etc. are working, how many people thinks of becoming self-reliant and take forward the state in terms of work and production.”
