Majdoor Monitoring Cell gives deputation on 8 demands

Agartala, August 01, 2023: The Majdoor Monitoring Cell on Tuesday gave deputation to the Additional Secretary of the Food department Nirmal Adhikari on eight-point charter of demands.

Some of the demands are- payment of full month’s wages to government food warehouse workers, provision of leave like government employees, inclusion of EPF, group insurance, etc.

The convenor Biplab Kar said that the workers are being deprived in various ways. A deputation has been given on Tuesday to the authority to pay regular wages to the workers in the Tripura government food warehouse.

It has also been demanded that they should be included in EPF and insurance. He said that then the workers will be benefited and they have been demanded to arrange Sunday off like government employees for their physical rest.
