Agartala, 24th November 2025: The West Agartala Police Station achieved a significant breakthrough in its anti-drug drive near the Battala Market area in Joynagar of Agartala city.
A special police team arrested a young man identified as Suman Das and seized approximately 9 grams of heroin and 350 Yaba tablets from his possession.
According to police sources, the special team increased surveillance in the area after receiving a tip-off. Acting on the intelligence, they conducted a targeted operation that led to the arrest of the accused.
Police are now investigating whether others are connected to Suman Das in the drug trade. He is scheduled to be produced before the court today. A police officer stated that efforts are underway to place him in remand for interrogation in order to trace and arrest other members of the drug network.
