Mandai Antyodaya family deprived of PMAY benefits; Appeals for housing assistance

Date:

Agartala, 1st August 2026: A family in Dhanai village under Mandai block, holding an Antyodaya ration card, has alleged deprivation from the benefits of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana despite repeated applications. Malati Debbarma, the head of the household, currently resides with her children in a fragile bamboo hut at her uncle’s residence, which she claims could collapse at any moment.

According to Malati Debbarma, she has submitted applications multiple times and undergone geo-tracking verification, yet no housing allocation has been sanctioned. Expressing frustration, she criticized the role of Mandai MLA Swapna Debbarma and MDC Jagadish Debbarma, alleging that elected representatives fail to address public grievances after elections.

Facing dire living conditions, Malati Debbarma has appealed through the media to both the government and local leaders to ensure her family receives the rightful benefit under the Prime Minister’s housing scheme.
