Manik writes to CM to take immediate steps over case files stoles from Tripura police HQ

Agartala: August 17. Former Chief Minister and leader of Opposition Manik Sarkar on Wednesday has written a letter to the incumbent Chief Minister of the state Dr Manik Saha asking him take effective measures to put an end in the recently held shocking incident which has happened for the first time in the history of Tripura Police.

The shocking incident took place on the night of 15th August in Tripura Police Headquarters after some bundles of files ‘ready for disposal’ were stolen or damaged by miscreants on the Independence Day.Leader of opposition Manik Sarkar has written a letter to the incumbent Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha in which Sarkar has said, “There is no reason to consider this as a simple theft. There are good reasons to believe that the interests of some part of the government or the administration are behind the removal of these files”.He further wrote that the initial response from the police headquarters in view of this alarming incident has deepened public suspicion. You are also the Chief Minister and Home Minister too.

“So, if there is no mistake in the information given in the media, then I believe that you will definitely take effective measures to put an end to this shocking incident which has happened for the first time in the history of Tripura Police. For this, I think it is necessary to give immediate responsibility to several fearless officers of the higher level of general administration and police administration”, Sarkar added.
