Matabari RD Block: Oath-taking ceremony marks new beginning for 3 Panchayats

Agartala, 4th April 2025:   Members of the Fontamati, Rajnagar and Pitra gram panchayats including their Pradhan and Upa-Pradhan officially took their oaths this afternoon at the Matarbari RD Block conference hall. The ceremony is delayed for seven months due to complications following the elections, marked a significant step toward resuming developmental activities in the region.

The event was graced by Bagma constituency MLA Rampada Jamatia, Matabari Panchayat Samiti Chairman Shilpi Das, Tepania Block Vice-Chairman Ramchandra Debnath, Gomati district social worker Sabita Nag, Zilla Parishad Vice-Chairman Sujan Sen, and Block BDO Subrata Dey.

The delay in the oath-taking ceremony had caused disruptions in developmental projects across the three panchayats. After extensive discussions within the ruling BJP party at their Brahmabari office, Udaipur, April 4 was finalized as the date to resolve the issue.

Speaking at the ceremony, MLA Rampada Jamatia emphasized the importance of collaboration between the government and local panchayats to accelerate development. He assured the public of their commitment to the region’s progress.

During the ceremony, Maran Das and Anjana Debnath were sworn in as Pradhan and Upa-Pradhan of Fontamati Gram Panchayat, respectively. Mamata Shil Das and Dipankar Das took their oaths as Pradhan and Upa-Pradhan of Rajnagar Gram Panchayat, while Shikha Rani Das Bhowmik and Nepal Das assumed their roles as Pradhan and Upa-Pradhan of Pitra Gram Panchayat.

The ceremony lasted from 11 am to 2 pm concluded with certificates being handed over to the newly sworn-in members by the Matarbari RD Block.
