Agartala, 6th October 2024:   Agartala is all set to witness the vibrant and deeply traditional “Mayer Gaman 2024” ceremony, which will commence on October 14 at 5 PM. The event will be held in front of Maharani Tulsibati Class XII Girls’ School, continuing the age-old Bijaya Dashami tradition in the city.

As part of the celebrations, a series of colorful cultural programs are planned, and the venue will be illuminated with decorative lights, adding to the festive atmosphere. Final preparations for the event are in full swing, as the organizers aim to present a memorable experience for participants and spectators alike.

A high-level meeting chaired by PK Chakraborty, Secretary of the Department of Information and Cultural Affairs, was held at the secretariat yesterday to discuss final arrangements. The meeting was attended by several key officials to ensure the event’s smooth execution.

Earlier, a preparatory meeting was conducted on September 8 at Muktdhara Auditorium under the leadership of Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha. This was followed by a review meeting on September 22, also held at Muktadhara Auditorium, in the presence of Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumder.

The city of Agartala is already buzzing with excitement, with local clubs and residents preparing to celebrate Mayer Gaman-2024. Efforts are also being made to live broadcast the event, allowing a wider audience to partake in the festivities.
