Agartala, 15th December 2025: Mayor Deepak Majumdar spent Monday inspecting multiple wards under the Agartala Municipal Corporation, reviewing civic issues across Wards 14, 15, 35, and 36.
In Ward 15’s Kalikapur area, residents have long demanded road widening and the construction of covered drains along the roadside. The mayor visited the locality to assess the feasibility of these projects. He stated that road expansion would only be possible if residents cooperated by vacating portions of land required for the work.
At Ranjit Nagar, Majumdar examined complications surrounding the renovation of a local pond. He directed officials to carry out demarcation and precise measurement of the pond’s designated area to resolve disputes. The mayor also reviewed drainage problems in border areas, emphasizing the need for effective water discharge solutions.
Officials from the Public Works Department accompanied him during the inspections, along with corporators Nibas Das, Snigdha Das Deb, Tushar Kanti Bhattacharya, Nitu Guha Dey, and several others.
