Agartala, 25th July 2025:   The Agartala Municipal Corporation is intensifying efforts to maintain a water-free and aesthetically enhanced cityscape. Mayor Dipak Majumdar reiterated this commitment during an inspection from Ker Chowmuhani to Bidurkarta Chowmuhani today. He was accompanied by Municipal Commissioner Dr. Shailesh Kumar Yadav, several councilors and officials.

During the visit, the Mayor addressed growing public concerns regarding the construction of roadside drains. While infrastructure works have been carried out on both government and private lands, some residents have raised objections over alleged drain construction on privately owned plots without compensation. Mayor Majumdar assured that lawful measures will be taken to resolve these grievances and safeguard property rights.

He further informed that comprehensive development initiatives are underway across various parts of the capital under the Smart City Mission. These include upgrades to public infrastructure, sanitation networks, and urban beautification projects aimed at improving overall living conditions for city dwellers.
