Mayor Dipak Majumder visits certain water-logging areas at Dukli

Agartala, May 23, 2023: Agartala Municipal Corporation’s Mayor on Tuesday visited Medda Chowmuhani and Rabindranagar areas in Dukli as there was a long-pending problem of commuting faced by the residents of these three locations after rainfall.

AMC has been working hard to keep the smart city water free from the experience of the past years. When it rains, water accumulates on the streets in the city. Due to this, people are having problems to travel on the road going to Dukli, Medda Chowmuhani – Rabindranagar. This problem has been with the locals for a long time.

After getting to know about their problems from the citizens of the town, Mayor Majumder, Mayor-in-Council Uday Bhaskar Chakraborty, Corporator Aditi Bhattacharya, local corporators and other officials visited the area on Tuesday. Local people were also with them. The Mayor visited the waterlogged road and also visit the new road in this area.

Later, the Mayor said that the PWD department has taken up the construction of the road there and drain will also be made. He said that efforts are being made to meet all the demands as much as possible. Efforts will be made in this monsoon so that rain does not accumulate in Agartala city. The Chief Minister is also trying earnestly to free the people of Agartala from water woes.

Besides, Mayor Deepak Majumdar also said that after the coming of BJP government, the work of renovating impassable roads, constructing drains, building new roads has started.
