Agartala, August 12, 2023 – In a significant community initiative, Mayor Dipak Majumder distributed Below Poverty Line (BPL) ration cards to 70 recipients from Ward No. 12 of Agartala Municipal Corporation on Saturday. The ceremony took place at the Radhanagar ward office, where Mayor Majumder handed over the BPL cards, marking a step forward in the city’s efforts to support its vulnerable population.

During the event, Mayor Majumder underscored the commitment of Agartala Pur Nigam to address a myriad of challenges faced by the locality. He contrasted this with the past performance of Left-ruled AMC, criticizing its failure to adequately serve the city’s residents. Mayor Majumder emphasized that the Municipal Corporation is currently engaged in revitalizing the urban landscape and uplifting the quality of life for its citizens.

Highlighting the recent progress achieved, Mayor Deepak Majumder attributed the city’s development over the past two years to the concerted efforts of a collaborative government. He asserted that the synergy of the double-engine government approach has yielded more growth in the last two years than witnessed over the preceding 25 years. The mayor also applauded the judicious use of government funds, which he credited for accelerating the pace of development.

Among the dignitaries present at the event were Deputy Mayor Manika Das Dutta, Mayor-in-Councillor Hiralal Debnath, and Corporator Santana Saha, underscoring the collective commitment to the city’s advancement.

The distribution of BPL ration cards, emblematic of Agartala’s dedication to inclusivity and social welfare, is a testament to the city’s strides in fostering holistic growth and improving the lives of its residents.
