Mayor Majumder emphasized that Shibbari Pond is not merely a water body but an integral part of the emotions and heritage of local residents. For years, people of the area have been demanding its renovation, and fulfilling this long-standing public demand has become a top priority for the Municipal Corporation.
He further informed that, if weather conditions remain favorable, the entire project is expected to be completed within the next three to four months. Once completed, the pond will not only enhance the city’s beauty but also emerge as a new attraction for recreation and tourism.
Local residents expressed hope that once the initiative is completed, the Shibbari area will become more scenic, and citizens will once again be able to use the pond for traditional and religious purposes.
