Mayor Inspects Covered Drain Construction

Agartala, 29th January 2025:Mayor Dipak Majumdar, inspected the ongoing construction of covered drains along both sides of the road from Dashamighat to Battala Shiv Mandir. The mayor emphasized the importance of local cooperation in ensuring the successful completion of the project.

Accompanied by Mayor Councilor Tushar Kanti Bhattacharya and local corporator Janhbi Das, Mayor Majumdar personally visited the project site on Wednesday to assess the progress.

Addressing the media, the mayor highlighted that the construction of 1200 meters of covered drains is being undertaken to address the long-standing demands of the residents. He assured that once completed, these drains will prevent rainwater from the nearby flyover from inundating the area.

“This project is crucial for the residents, and with your cooperation, we can complete it efficiently. The total estimated cost for the construction is Rs 4 Crore,” said Mayor Majumdar.

He urged the locals to extend their full support to ensure the smooth execution of the project, emphasizing that their cooperation would expedite the completion timeline.
