Agartala, 6th November 2025:  In a significant step toward improving civic amenities, the Agartala Municipal Corporation has initiated the construction of a water treatment plant in Kabarkhola, located within Ward No. 8 of Indranagar. The project aims to ensure access to safe drinking water for local residents, addressing a demand that has persisted for years.

The initiative comes in response to repeated appeals from the community, particularly from residents who have long struggled with inadequate water supply. Today, Mayor Dipak Majumder visited the site to inspect the progress of the work. He was accompanied by Ward No. 8 Councillor Shampa Sen Sarkar.

Members of the local community, including representatives from minority groups, were also present during the inspection. Speaking to reporters, Mayor Majumder emphasized the Corporation’s commitment to strengthening basic infrastructure across all wards. “We are working systematically to upgrade water supply systems in every ward to meet the fundamental needs of our citizens,” he said.

He expressed optimism that the new water treatment facility would bring lasting relief to Kabarkhola residents, many of whom have endured chronic water shortages.
