Agartala, 3rd December 2025: Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumdar today laid the foundation stone for the new office building of Ward No. 17, located under the Central Zone at Muktapukur Para. The ceremony also marked the formal inauguration of an open gym constructed at the site.
The brief event was attended by Deputy Mayor Manika Das Dutta, corporator Shikha Banerjee, Snigdha Das Deb, Nibash Das, and Ramnagar Mandal president Amitava Bhattacharya, along with other prominent personalities.
Speaking at the occasion, Mayor Majumdar said the ward office had been a longstanding demand of local residents. “Keeping in mind the convenience of the people, the initiative has been taken to build a new office building,” he stated. The Ward No. 17 office is expected to be constructed at a cost of around ₹50 lakh.
He further noted that the open gym was another long-pending demand of the community. “This gym will play a vital role in ensuring the physical well-being of residents,” Majumdar remarked, adding that the facility was built at an expenditure of approximately Rs 15 lakh.
