MBB University holds discussion meeting on “My vote for my country”

Agartala, January 06, 2022: A discussion meeting was held on “My vote for my country” at Maharaja Bir Bikram University’s auditorium on Friday with the joint initiative of the university’s Political Science department and the National Election Watch and Association for Democratic Reforms. The aim of the discussion was to encourage new voters to vote.

Dr Anuj Kanchan Dutta Roy, Assistant Professor of the Department of Political Science in Maharaja Bir Vikram University in a press communique informed that the forum was held on the theme of “My Vote for My Country” to encourage new voters to vote.

University Vice-Chancellor Prof Satyadeo Poddar along with University Registrar Dr Sumanta Chakraborty started the discussion by lighting the lamp. Assistant Professor of Political Science department Bindu Ranjan Chakma welcomed everyone in his welcome address and emphasized the importance of participation of all in the voting process in democratic governance.

State Coordinator of National Election Watch, Biswendu Bhattacharjee presented information on voting process and people’s participation in various countries of the world and Tripura.

University registrar Dr Sumanta Chakraborty in his speech highlighted the importance of holding all the elections in one day and various aspects of the election process. University Vice-Chancellor Professor Satyadeo Poddar, in his speech emphasized on participation of everyone in the voting process as a responsible citizen. Assistant Professor Dr Anuj Kanchan Dutt Roy delivered the vote of thanks.

In the second half of the program, a play was presented on the theme, “I will give my vote, I will not sell my vote”, to motivate the students. After that quiz compet ition was held among the students.
