Agartala, 13th October 2026 : MDC Utpal Debbarma has initiated steps to improve drinking water facilities and sports infrastructure in the Krishnahao Kaipeng area, where the installation of a water filtration unit and the first phase of a modern football field project have been taken forward.
On Tuesday, Debbarma inspected the newly installed drinking water filtration unit, tested the water and interacted with local residents to learn about their experiences with the facility.
According to reports, he had promised to ensure access to safe drinking water in the area around two months ago. Following his initiative, the concerned company agreed to install three filtration units for the benefit of residents. The first unit has already been installed, while arrangements are being made to set up the remaining two.
Debbarma said he had personally tasted the filtered water twice and found it clean. He also stated that residents had expressed satisfaction with the facility. He added that the remaining units would be installed soon, although an additional unit might be necessary to meet the area’s growing demand.
Alongside the drinking water initiative, work on a modern football field in the Krishnahao Kaipeng neighbourhood has also begun. The first phase of construction was undertaken on Tuesday.
The projects are expected to improve access to drinking water and provide better sporting opportunities for local youths. Residents are now looking forward to the installation of the remaining filtration units and the completion of the football field.
