Agartala, 31st December 2025:   In the wake of a vandalism incident at Shobhapur PM Shree Higher Girls’ School under Kathalia School Inspector, a crucial meeting was convened on Wednesday at the school premises.

The gathering brought together members of the school management committee, local panchayat representatives, and parents from all sections of the community. The meeting was presided over by noted social worker Shubrojit Das, who led detailed discussions on safeguarding communal harmony and preventing such disruptive incidents in the future.

Yesterday, the school had hosted its annual Milad ceremony. According to reports, miscreants broke into the premises under the cover of darkness, damaging religious items prepared for the ceremony as well as valuable school furniture. The following morning, the school authorities lodged complaints with local representatives and the Sonamura police station. Despite the disruption, the Milad ceremony was completed, and it was decided that a wider community meeting would be held the next day to address the matter.

During Wednesday’s meeting, Shubrojit Das strongly condemned the attack and emphasized the importance of preserving the area’s tradition of communal harmony. He announced that multiple resolutions had been adopted unanimously, including steps to identify the culprits and ensure exemplary punishment through coordination with the police administration. He also urged residents not to be unsettled by such incidents and to uphold the longstanding reputation of the locality.

Among those present were Yogesh Debnath, Upa-Pradhan of Shovapur Gram Panchayat; Billal Mia, Pradhan of Sonapur Gram Panchayat; retired teachers; and several former public representatives.
