Agartala: May 10. Member of Gram panchayat died in an accident while returning home after attending an invitation from a wedding house.
The incident took place yesterday late night when the deceased identified as Haradhan Chakraborty (45) was en route to Agartala and dashed his car in a tree at Baratila area under Belonia police station. A local person said that he came out of the house after hearing a loud noise late at night.
Information was given to Belonia police station. The police came and rescued the injured and the dead and took them to Belonia Hospital. The doctor declared one dead. The doctor on duty referred others two to Agartala GB Pant Hospital with serious injuries. It is known that all are from the same family. Deceased Haradhan Chakraborty is a loyal worker of BJP party and member of South Rajnagar Gram Panchayat. This incident casts a shadow of deep grief in the area and in the political circles.
