The event was presided over by the school’s Head Master Chandan Kumar Debnath, Dr. Anupam Guha, Principal of MMD College; Professor Arup Patari; teachers and students of the school were present in the event.

The World Ozone Day is observed every year on September 16th to raise awareness and promote global efforts to protect the ozone layer. It is also remembered for the signing of the Montreal Protocol, which united countries worldwide in the fight against ozone depletion.

During the event, Professor Patari highlighted that tackling global warming and various environmental issues remain significant challenges today. The theme for 2025 is “Ozone for Life.” He emphasized that the ozone acts as a shield for Mother Earth, and the Montreal Protocol aims to gradually eliminate substances like chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) used in refrigerators and air conditioning that cause ozone depletion.

Dr. Anupam Guha mentioned that despite advancements in the digital age, the planet faces threats to biodiversity and rapid changes in environmental temperatures. He urged everyone to take initiative and increase awareness to protect the environment. Students participated actively, and the program concluded with a question-answer session.
