Agartala Nov 30: Along with renovation of old hostels, new hostels are being built. Bhagaban Das, Minister of Welfare of Scheduled Castes, said this on Wednesday. Minister Bhagaban Das visited Nutannagar Higher Secondary Girls School Hostel on Wednesday accompanied by officials of the concerned department.
The minister visited the entire student residence, vegetable garden and also held talks with the superintendent of the hostel.The minister was informed that there are currently 26 students in the hostel.However, there is accommodation for 30 people. Students from Class 6-12 stay in the hostel. Minister Bhagaban Das said that the hostel has been renovated in recent days and also various other necessary items have been provided.
Das further said that new hostels are being built in different parts of the state for the welfare of the students.Besides, plans have been taken to provide television in the hostels so that the students can watch TV in their free time along with education. Later, the minister had lunch with the students in the hostel.
