Agartala, 25th October 2025: Reiterating the state government’s dedication to eradicating AIDS, Social Welfare and Social Education minister Tinku Roy today inaugurated the state-level finale of the National Red Run at the Umakanta Academy Ground here.
The event was jointly organized by the Tripura AIDS Control Society and the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports witnessed the spirited participation of hundreds of young runners and volunteers reflecting a strong community resolve toward a healthier society.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Roy said, “Our government is working extensively to eliminate AIDS. Initiatives like the Red Run help build a more aware, healthier, and united society. The enthusiasm and participation of the youth are truly inspiring.”
He underscored the importance of collective efforts and youth involvement in awareness campaigns, emphasizing that sustained public engagement is vital to achieving a future free from HIV/AIDS.
The Minister also expressed optimism that such initiatives would continue to foster social responsibility and solidarity among the younger generation.
The event was attended by Kiran Gitte, Secretary of Health and Family Welfare, West Tripura District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar, and several other dignitaries.
