The operation was carried out in Jagatpur, Abhoynagar and Dumdumiya under the jurisdiction of West Tripura district. During the intervention, officials identified both the boy and the girl involved as minors, aged 16 years.

According to official sources, a written declaration was obtained from the boy’s family to ensure that the marriage would not take place. The minor girl was rescued by the team and safely shifted to the Open Shelter at Melarmath for temporary protection.

Officials said the girl will be produced before the Child Welfare Committee on Monday for further legal and protective measures.

The operation was shared through the official social media page of the District Magistrate and Collector of West Tripura as part of ongoing efforts to prevent child marriage and protect minors in the district.
