Minor girl rescued from rubber garden in Sonamura, kidnappers on the run

Agartala, November 10: A minor girl who was kidnapped from Boxanagar area of Kalamchoura on Tuesday was rescued by the police from a rubber garden in Sonamura late on Thursday night. The girl was allegedly abducted by Zainal Hossain, his wife and another woman from Putia area.

According to the police, the family members of the girl had lodged a complaint at Boxanagar Kalamchoura Police Station on Tuesday after they failed to trace her. They suspected that Zainal Hossain, who lives in Khedabari area of Sonamura, was involved in the kidnapping.

On Thursday night, the family members received a tip-off that the girl was seen in a rubber garden in Khedabari area. They informed the Sonamura police station, who rushed to the spot and rescued the girl. The girl was taken to the police station and her family members were notified.

The family members of the girl told the media that they have filed a complaint at Sonamura Police Station against Zainal Hossain and his accomplices and demanded strict action against them. They alleged that the kidnappers had planned to sell the girl to a trafficking racket.

The police said that they are investigating the case and trying to nab the culprits, who are currently absconding. The incident has created a sense of fear and anger among the locals.
