Agartala, 12th December 2025:   A 14-year-old boy named Suprajit Mahishya Das lost his life in an electric auto accident at Jalai Gram Panchayat under Kailashahar this morning.

Local sources informed that Suprajit took his family’s e-auto-rickshaw out without informing anyone, accompanied by two other teenagers. While attempting to turn the vehicle a short distance from home, he suddenly lost control, causing the auto to overturn on the road. Though his companions escaped unhurt, Suprajit was trapped under the vehicle’s weight and sustained severe injuries.

Residents rushed to rescue him and took him to Unakoti District Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. The seventh-grade student’s sudden death cast a pall of grief over both the hospital and his village.

Kailashahar police station staff have launched an investigation into the accident. Tensions briefly flared at the hospital when authorities initiated post-mortem procedures, which the family opposed. The situation was later brought under control by Second Officer Ujjal Choudhury.

A momentary lapse and youthful curiosity claimed the young boy’s life, leaving the entire area in mourning.
