Agartala, 9th June 2025: The distress of a missing 16-year-old girl continues to mount as her parents remain desperate for answers nearly three weeks after her disappearance. The girl identified as Anamika Nag was last seen on May 18 at her home in Bishalgarh. Her parents, who had gone to work in a nearby agricultural field returned around 2 pm to find her missing.
Despite filing an initial complaint with Jatrapur police station on the day of the incident, the family’s anguish intensified when Anamika remained untraceable. On May 25, they submitted a formal complaint against a youth identified as Nabajit Sarkar, whom they suspect might be connected to her disappearance. Their suspicions were fueled by a photograph found on a mobile phone showing Anamika and Nabajit together. The image has since been provided to police authorities.
Nabajit is reportedly a resident of MR Das Para in Gandacherra area under Dhalai district and his father has been identified as Ranjit Sarkar. Despite this information being submitted to police, there has been no breakthrough in locating Anamika.
The prolonged uncertainty has taken a toll on Anamika’s parents, who are struggling with sleepless nights and have reportedly refrained from eating in their distress. With weeks passing without any development, they have now turned to media personnel hoping their plight will draw greater attention and prompt swift action from the authorities.
Police officials have yet to provide substantial updates on the investigation. The family continues to appeal for urgent intervention fearing for their daughter’s safety as the search efforts remain inconclusive.
