Agartala, 2nd January 2024 :   A group of 17 minority families living in Raiabari area of Udaipur sub-division have been facing harassment and violence from some locals over a land dispute. A few days ago, one of the family’s house was set on fire by the attackers.

On Tuesday, the representatives of nine organizations, who are supporting the minority families, met the Director General of State Police at the state police headquarters and submitted a joint deputation. They demanded immediate action against the culprits and security for the families.

The delegation alleged that the attackers are trying to evict the minority families from their land and have been threatening and assaulting them. They also claimed that the local police have not taken any steps to stop the violence and protect the victims.

The Director General of State Police assured the delegation that he will look into the matter and take necessary action. He also instructed the local police to provide adequate security to the minority families and prevent any further attacks.
