Agartala, January 19, 2023: The political activities of various parties in the northern district have become intense after the announcement of the election date.

Bagbasa Mandal Minority Morcha president submitted his resignation letter two days back expressing no confidence in the BJP party.

On Thursday, 300 voters from a total of 50 minority families, including Morjina Khatun, elected member of Ward No. 3 North Hurua and Parveen Begum, elected member of Ward No. 2, went to Agartala and joined the Congress umbrella holding the hands of MLA Sudip Roy Burman and party’s state president Birajit Sinha.

They have been repeatedly protesting against the financial corruption of Bagbasa mandal president Sudip Deb, but as Deb’s corruption continued and there was no help from the high-level leaders of the ruling party in this regard.

Hence, they finally joined the Congress umbrella by showing no-confidence in saffron party. Right before the election, so many minority voters left the party and gathered under the umbrella of other parties.
