Minor’s deadbody recovered at Churaibari, family demands thorough investigation

Agartala, 11th May 2025:  The recovery of a minor’s body in Khadimpara under Churaibari police station has sent shockwaves through the locality raising concerns over the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.

Police sources informed that a nine-year-old Jamil Hossain, son of Abdul Khalik left his home yesterday afternoon to play but never returned. Hours later, his dead body was found in a wetland within an agricultural field, a short distance from his residence.

Upon receiving the report, Sub-Inspector Pradip Barman arrived at the scene with his team to investigate. “We have sent the body to Kadamtala Community Health Center for autopsy. A thorough inquiry into the circumstances of the minor’s death is underway,” said SI Barman.

Family members of the deceased suspect foul play. Speaking to reporters, Jamil’s uncle Sabul Mia pointed out visible injury marks on the boy’s body. “We want justice for Jamil,” he stated, urging authorities to conduct a proper investigation.
