Miscreants set fire on two vehicles at Amtali

Agartala: February 01. Unknown miscreants have reportedly set fire on two vehicle. The incident took place in Ishan Chandranagar under Amtali police station area yesterday late night.

It is alleged that the incident took place because the owner of the damaged car was associated with the left student youth organization. According to the details of the incident, miscreants set fire to two cars parked near his house late on Tuesday night. A neighbor heard the noise and came out of the house and noticed that the car parked next to the house was on fire.

 Immediately he came out and called the car owner Arijit Biswas and the neighbors. One car was completely damaged in the fire, local people tried to douse the fire of another car. That car was also damaged in the fire.

After receiving the information about the incident, the fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control. The police of Amtali police station also rushed to the spot after receiving information about the incident. The police have started investigating the incident by accepting a case in this regard.

Arijit however claimed that he has no enemy in his area but believe that the car was destroyed watching political colour.

The local residents have demanded to find out the accused and take strict action according to the law. Meanwhile, on hearing that two cars were gutted in the fire, Sushant Chakraborty, Congress candidate from Suryamani Nagar assembly constituency, rushed there and spoke to the affected families. He termed the incident as politically motivated and demanded that the accused be found and given exemplary punishment.
