Agartala, 18th March 2024 : In a distressing incident on Monday, a 23-year-old biker sustained severe injuries following a collision with a tipper vehicle in the vicinity of Jiraniya Police Station. The victim, identified as James Kalai, a resident of Bairagi Para Debacherra area under Takarjala Police Station, was riding his motorcycle when the accident took place.
According to reports, Kalai embarked on his journey around 11 am and was headed towards the Jirania area when the tipper struck his bike, causing him to fall onto the road. Emergency responders swiftly arrived at the scene to administer aid and subsequently transported him to Jirania sub-divisional hospital.
The incident came to light when a nurse from Jirania sub-divisional hospital contacted Kalai’s wife using his mobile phone, informing her of the unfortunate event. The family immediately proceeded to the hospital upon receiving the news.
Following preliminary treatment at Jiraniya Hospital, Kalai was referred to GB Hospital for further medical care. Medical sources have confirmed that Kalai has suffered a leg fracture and is currently under treatment at GB Hospital. The local authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
