Agartala: September 25. Ruling BJP MLA from Ambassa Assembly Constituency Parimal Debbarma has expressed his disappointment over the role of booth president and Kulai Panchayat Pradhan for not updating him about the problems which people were facing for many months.

The statement of the MLA came soon after villagers of Thakur Palli area under Kulai Gram Panchayat in Ambassa had blockade Ambassa and Kamalpur roads protesting the deplorable condition of the road.

The agitators had blockaded the road since morning and said that since many months they are not able to use the road because of its pathetic condition. The agitators also alleged that the water logs on the road created many problems due to a lack of a drainage system.

They however accused the Kulai gram panchayat pradhan Anima Das and claimed that even after informing her about the issue she didn’t take any steps to solve the matter.Soon after the blockade, MLA Parimal Debbarma said booth president and Panchayat Pradhan didn’t inform him about the situation and if they had informed him earlier he could take some steps.

“The road condition which are being used by commuters of Ambassa and Kamalpur is very pathetic. They have been facing the issues for many months however and the condition of drainage is also not good. I was not aware of it. However, the booth president and Panchayat Pradhan didn’t inform me about the situation and if they had informed me earlier I could take some steps. I heard about the road blockade today and rushed here. I have assured them that I will try to solve their problem before Durga Puja. I hope it will be solved soon” the MLA said. However, after the assurance from the MLA the villagers lifted the blockade.
