Agartala, March 25: Eyeing to the ensuing monsoon season, Bishalgarh’s newly elected MLA Sushanta Deb has taken up the work of de-cluttering the Bijoy river for improvising the drainage-water system.
If the sewage drains are not cleaned, people of Bishalgarh Municipal Council area will have to suffer. With that in mind, realizing the need to take action in advance, MLA Deb jumped into the work with the administrative officers.
MLA Sushanta Deb along with Bishalgarh SDM Binoy Bhushan Das visited the adjacent areas of Bijoy river on Saturday afternoon. The MLA has ordered the quick cleaning of fish packets and garbage accumulated in the river.
Along with that, the MLA said to build a paved base near the side of the bridge. He assured to take necessary steps to beautify the river. Besides, he advised the officials to quickly clean the drain garbage from Rautkhala to Bazar area.
Besides, MLA Deb inspected several lands for permanent office of Bishalgarh Press Club. SDM Binoy Bhushan Das was with him. MLA Deb assured reporters that Bishalgarh would be the permanent address of the Press Club soon.
