Agartala, October 14: MLA Yadav Lal Nath of Bagbasa assembly constituency distributed 30 sound systems to 30 temples in his area on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday. He said that the sound systems would be inaugurated on ‘Mahalaya’, the day that marks the beginning of the Durga Puja festival.
As per his promise, MLA Yadav Lal Nath inaugurated the sound systems in 30 temples in Bagbasa assembly constituency area on Saturday morning. The main inauguration ceremony was held at Kalachara Mahaprabhu Akhara, where he was joined by prominent Kirtaniya Shushen Vaidya of North Eastern region.
The MLA and the Kirtaniya played the Gayatri mantra and welcomed Goddess Durga with Mahishasur Mardini, a hymn that celebrates her victory over the demon Mahishasur. They also performed Harinam sankirtan, a devotional chanting of the names of Lord Hari, in the Akhara temple. The villagers and the public representatives also participated in the ceremony.
The MLA said that he had given the sound systems to various temples in Bagbasa area to preach Sanatan Dharma, the eternal way of life. He said that he was inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of development and welfare for all. He also wished everyone a happy and prosperous Durga Puja.
