Agartala, 2nd June 2025 : Amid a continuing blood shortage across Tripura, the Khowai District Administration has stepped forward with a proactive initiative to boost blood reserves.
On Monday afternoon, a blood donation camp was held at the District Magistrate’s Conference Hall, organized under the leadership of Khowai District Magistrate Rajat Pant.
The event marked the beginning of a structured calendar initiative, where blood donation camps will be held monthly across various offices under Khowai Sub Division.
Speaking on the occasion, Additional District Magistrate Abhijit Chakraborty informed that as per the new annual calendar, one office will host a blood donation drive every month to ensure consistent contributions to the blood bank.
Monday’s camp saw enthusiastic participation from the staff of the District Magistrate’s office. A total of 25 individuals registered for the drive, and all 25 successfully donated blood by the end of the event.
District Magistrate Rajat Pant, Additional District Magistrates Abhijit Chakraborty and Abhedananda Baidya, along with other senior officials, were present at the camp and expressed appreciation for the participants’ contributions.
Officials emphasized that such regular camps are essential not only to address the current shortage but also to instill a culture of voluntary blood donation among government employees and the wider public.
