MoS Pratima Bhoumik draws CAPSI’s attention to provide employment opportunities by setting training centres in Tripura

Agartala, April 10, 2023: Union minister of state for External Affairs and Education RK Ranjan Singh and union minister of state for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhoumik inaugurated the “North East Security Education & Global Employability Conclave” at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan here on Monday.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the conclave, MoS Bhoumik asked the CAPSI to pay attention in setting up of training centres in Tripura. “There are thousands of youths who hail from poor families and are lagging behind in terms of higher educational qualifications, those youths have the zeal to do something and stand on their own feet. Hence, setting up of training centres would be highly beneficial for these youths of the state”, she added.

Bhoumik also said “On the other hand, it is seen that the security guards engaged with various private organizations are deprived of getting their salaries after six months of work and also underprivileged of getting various facilities. It is the utmost necessity of the organizer to look into these issues and solve them at the earliest.”

Central Association for Private Securities of India (CAPSI) chairman Kunwar Vikram Singh said “CAPSI, the apex body of private security agencies in India, will set up eight “Centres of Excellence” for training in private security in the capitals of each state of the NE region which will galvanise the private security industry by creating jobs.”

“We have signed MoUs with reputed international security education organisations like the International

Federation of Protection officers (IFPO) and the Association of Investigation & Security Agencies Regulators (USA) and The Security Institute of UK for placement of trained youth of NE in foreign countries. The Bureau of India Standards (BIS) has already constituted a panel of security experts to draft international standards so that trained and certified Indian youth can be employed in foreign countries,” he added.

In the inaugural ceremony of the conclave, ICFAI University’s VC Prof Dr Biplab Halder, Rastriya Raksha University’s Dean Dr Akshat Mehta.
