Agartala, August 20, 2022: Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhoumik on Saturday said that the efforts should be made to build improved infrastructure in every district of the state utilizing the Prime Minister Gati Shakti – National Master Plan. “In the case of West Tripura district, special importance should be given to the development of drinking water, electricity and communication system”, she added.
Union Minister of state Bhoumik chaired a general meeting of Paschim Tripura Zilla Parishad on Saturday. Zilla Parishad’s Sabhadipati Antara Sarkar Deb presided over the meeting while Saha-Sabhadipati Haridulal Acharya, MLA Krishnadhan Das, chairman of various Panchayat Samitis of the district, District Magistrate Debapriya Bardhan, Additional District Magistrate Asim Saha, Zilla Parishad’s Secretary Debashish Das, BDOs of various blocks were present.
In the meeting, Bhoumik laid emphasis on providing more assistance in agriculture and agriculture related matters to make the rural people of the district self-reliant. She said that the Zilla Parishad should work on plans to make West Tripura district a model district by utilizing the opportunities of central projects. Central and state government schemes should be delivered to the real beneficiaries of the marginal areas of the district. The central government is working on multi-pronged plans for the development of agriculture and the welfare of farmers. Arrangements have also been made to train farmers in every state of the country. In total, 50 farmers from the state will be sent to Gujarat for training. The Union Minister of State also emphasized on the expansion of organic farming in the district.
In the meeting, the Bhoumik suggested that 5 Anganwadi Kendras in 9 blocks of West Tripura district should be developed as ideal ‘Anganwadi Kendras’ through MP Development Fund. She said, for this, necessary support will be given to MP Development Fund. Moreover, in the meeting, the union minister of state also proposed to build one free stage in each assembly constituency of the district under the MP Development Fund.
