Agartala, November 12, 2022: TIPRA Motha chairman Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarman on Saturday said that there shall be no compromise in fighting for the rights of Tiprasa people which will also be the last fight for the regional political party.
Addressing a mass gathering at Swami Vivekananda Maidan here on Saturday afternoon, Debbarman said that the entire country has celebrated ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ for completing 75 years of independence, but the Tiprasa people are deprived. “There is no job, no patta, no allotment power, no teachers in schools, no medicines in hospitals, etc. Tiprasa people needs to visit GBP hospital for treatment by lying on the floor, or else have to visit Chennai, Vellore, Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata”, he added.
“Despite the fact that the Maharajas have ruled the state for thousands of years but we are left as poor, begging and demanding for right in our own place. The ‘Thansa’ (unity) which should be there amongst us was missing and that is why, we are left deprived. However the unity can achieve us the state, the system, etc.”, he added.
He said “Ministers, MLAs and MPs visited, what the ‘Tiprasa’ people got. Slogans of ‘Chalo Paltai’, and ‘Chalo Ultai’ were raised by many from time to time, but the leaders are those only, those who have been in CPIM’s regime are now in BJP’s regime. The problem of Tiprasa people was never solved by changing the party. Allegation were once raised that Pradyot is against the Hindus. But the Manikya family has set up Tripura Sundari Temple, I worship ‘Mandal Chandi Mata’. This family has gave plot for construction of Mission Church, set up mosques for Muslim community, Benuban Bihar for Buddhist community. You people claim that Pradyot is communal. Till today, I never sought for vote seeing religion, tilak or beard, the politics of temple and mosques are being done by you people who are sitting state and country’s power.”
Appealing ‘Tiprasa’ people, Bubagra said that the ruling party may offer money to MDCs and leaders of Motha, and if they feel like betraying the community, then Tiprasa will not spare them.
He also said “This time, will do ‘One Last Fight’ in the assembly election of 2023. Two months are left for the polls, fight for a last time. Democracy is in danger. Motha is not a party, it is movement and it is for the survival, existence and justice for ‘Tiprasa’ people.” He challenged to throw him off if they have the courage. Bubagra will die for the Tiprasa people, but will never compromise.
In this programme, Indian footballer Bhaichung Bhutia, TTAADC Chairman Jagadish Debbarma, TIPRA Motha president BK Hrangkhwal, CEM Purna Chandra Jamatia, Deputy CEM Animesh Debbarma, YTF president Runeil Debbarma and WTF president Swapna Debbarma along with others were present.
