Agartala, 23rd November 2024:   The body of a driver named Raju Das was found hanging from a tree on Bishalgarh bypass road at 7 am on Friday. The deceased’s mother Suparna Das claimed that her son was murdered and then hung to stage a suicide.

Local residents found Raju Das from Jangalia Subal Saha Chaumuhoni area hanging by his hair from a tree. One of his legs was entangled in the tree, while the other touched the ground, leading locals to suspect foul play. “It looked like he was killed and then hung up there,” a resident remarked.

Suparna Das, who rushed to the scene upon hearing the news, alleged that her son, who drove a tripper vehicle for several people including Bishalgarh contractor Badal Pal, had no family problems. “Why would Raju hang himself miles away from home if he had any issues? He could have done it near our house,” she questioned. “This doesn’t make sense. He was running errands in Agartala and had no reason to end his life,” she added.

The Bishalgarh police arrived promptly, completed legal procedures and sent the body to Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital for an autopsy. “We are skeptical about the circumstances in which the body was found. An investigation has been initiated to uncover the truth,” said SI Jiban Chandra Das.

The body will be handed over to the family after the autopsy. Meanwhile, the locals remains on edge, awaiting answers about the mysterious death of Raju Das. The police are determined to get to the bottom of the case and ensure justice is served.
