Agartala, 29th March 2025: Two motorcycles were stolen from the Dayaram Para area while their owners Salka Debbarma and Buddha Debbarma from Sutarmura village under Charilam assembly constituency were visiting their aunt’s house yesterday evening. The duo had arrived in the evening and parked their bikes securely before retiring for the night. To their shock, they found that the door of the house where their bikes were stored had been forcibly broken this morning.
The news caused panic within the household, and a frantic search was initiated. By midday, locals managed to locate Salka Debbarma’s Bajaj Pulsar NS 125 bike bearing the registration number TR07F9045 abandoned in a dense forest near a paddy field in the same area. Salka and the family promptly identified the recovered bike. However, Buddha Debbarma’s bike remains missing.
A complaint has been filed at the Takarjala police station regarding the theft. This incident underscores the increasing frequency of such crimes in hilly regions, paralleling theft patterns observed in the plains. Residents have expressed concerns about the surge in criminal activities, with reports of theft targeting homes, places of worship, and other properties.
The locality is now waits anxiously to see if police efforts will lead to the recovery of Buddha Debbarma’s stolen motorcycle and curb the growing threat of theft in the area.
