Agartala, 24th July 2025: Former Tripura Chief Minister and Lok Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb on Thursday called on Union Minister for Housing & Urban Affairs and Power, Manohar Lal Khattar, to review the status of the Lighthouse Project in Tripura.
During the meeting, Deb stressed the urgency of accelerating the project’s implementation and requested the Centre to allocate additional funds to ensure its timely completion.
“The Lighthouse Project is a flagship initiative that promises to transform urban housing through the use of innovative, sustainable construction technologies,” Deb said. “In Tripura, the project aims to provide modern housing to 1,000 families, significantly improving their quality of life.”
Highlighting its broader impact, Deb noted that the project is part of a nationwide initiative encompassing six locations across India and will serve as a model for future housing developments.
“This initiative will not only enhance housing infrastructure in Tripura but also demonstrate the potential of advanced building technologies in public sector projects,” he added.
