Agartala, 27th March 2025:   Member of Parliament Biplab Kumar Deb on Thursday called for the establishment of an Indian Institute of Management (IIM) or Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Tripura. He emphasized that such a move would significantly enhance higher education opportunities for students in Tripura and neighboring states.

Deb highlighted that the presence of these prestigious institutions would not only improve the quality of education but also create employment opportunities for the local population, thereby uplifting their livelihoods. He pointed out that Tripura, being one of the smaller states in the North Eastern region, requires modern and high-quality educational institutions to drive economic progress.

The MP further stressed that these initiatives would pave the way for the economic development of the state by empowering local youth with better education and job prospects. He underscored the broader impact of such institutions, stating that they would play a pivotal role in the overall development of Tripura.
