Agartala, 19th August 2024:  In a heartwarming tradition, MP and former Chief Minister of Tripura Biplab Kumar Deb celebrated Rakhi Bandhan by receiving Rakhis from sisters across the state on Monday. Approximately two hundred women from various regions visited his residence in Dhaleswar to tie the sacred thread.

“Rakhi Bandhan symbolizes the prayer for the well-being of both brother and sister. The love and blessings from elders inspire us to overcome adversities and move forward with determination,” said Deb.

Deb also highlighted the historical significance of Rakhi Bandhan, mentioning Rabindranath Tagore’s role in its inception. “Tagore’s vision of Rakhi Bandhan was to promote unity and harmony,” he added.

Emphasizing the importance of women’s safety, Deb stated, “Protecting women is one of our top priorities. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, reservation measures have been introduced to integrate women into the mainstream of society.”

The event saw the presence of notable figures, including TRPC Chairman Patal Kanya Jamatia, Mahila Morcha President Mimi Majumdar and several corporators who joined in the celebrations.
