MP Biplab Kumar Deb participates in Parliamentary Committee Meeting on insolvency bill

Agartala, 27th   November 2025:  Former Tripura Chief Minister and West Tripura MP Biplab Kumar Deb on Thursday attended a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee at the Parliament House Annexe to review the Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code (Amendment) Bill, 2025.

Deb later shared updates on social media, stating that the committee held detailed discussions with officials from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. Members carried out a clause-by-clause scrutiny of the proposed amendments, examining their impact on insolvency resolution and corporate governance.

The session highlighted the need to further strengthen the legal framework for insolvency proceedings, with emphasis on improving transparency and accelerating resolution mechanisms. The committee’s recommendations are expected to shape the final draft of the Bill before it is presented for broader deliberation in Parliament.
