Agartala, 19th September 2025: In anticipation of the upcoming Sharadiya Durga Puja, nearly 600 women from the Mekhlipara Tea Garden area, located in the 5-Khayerpur constituency of the Sadar rural district, received new garments as part of a community outreach initiative.
The distribution event was attended by several prominent leaders, including Tripura BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee, Mandal president Rajesh Bhowmik, and rural district president Gouranga Bhowmik, among others.
Speaking at the event, MP Rajib Bhattacharjee stated that the initiative was part of a series of programs being organized in celebration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, which will continue until September 2. “This gesture of gifting new clothes to women is a tribute to the strength of motherhood and a way to share the festive spirit with people in remote areas,” he said.
Local women expressed joy upon receiving the garments and conveyed their heartfelt gratitude to the organizers for including them in the celebrations.
