Agartala, 22nd August 2025: At least 26 staff members of the Mobile Veterinary Unit (MVU) under Tripura’s Animal Resource Development Department (ARDD) submitted a deputation to the department’s Director today pressing for immediate action on their long-pending grievances.
The employees alleged that they have not received their salaries for the past five months, leaving them in a state of financial distress. “We’ve been working under the ARD department for three years now, but every year the same issue arises delayed salaries. Despite repeated appeals to the Director and Minister Sudhangshu Das, nothing has changed,” one of the protesting staff members said.
According to the workers, their monthly remuneration has remained fixed at Rs 10,000 since the time of recruitment, without any increment or revision in the last three years. They claimed that irregular payments coupled with stagnant wages have pushed many of them to the brink of hardship.
The MVU staff demanded immediate release of their pending salaries, regularization of their jobs, a fair hike in wages, and access to service benefits on par with permanent state government employees.
They urged the authorities to intervene swiftly, stressing that their demands were not just about wages but about “dignity, stability, and fairness” in their professional lives.
