Agartala,  19th December 2025:    A wave of shock has gripped the Kanchanmala area under Golaghati constituency after the body of a man suffering from an unknown illness was recovered from his residence. The deceased has been identified as Nityalal Pal, a resident of Nakul Choumuhani in Kanchanmala.

Local sources informed that, Pal had been battling an unidentified disease for a long time. He was admitted to GB Hospital a few weeks ago and discharged after showing signs of improvement. However, on Friday, when neighbors noticed no movement or sound from his house well into the afternoon, suspicion arose.

Despite repeated calls, there was no response from inside. The house gate and doors were found locked from within. The matter was reported to Amtali police station, and officers arrived promptly. With the help of locals, police broke open the locks and entered the house, where Pal’s lifeless body was discovered in a deserted corner of the room.

Initially, speculation of suicide spread among residents, but the exact cause of death remains unclear. Locals revealed that Pal had been living alone in the house for nearly three years, with no known family members or relatives in the vicinity.

Police have sent the body to morgue of Tripura Medical College and Dr BR Ambedkar Teaching Hospital at Hapania for post-mortem examination. Officials stated that the cause of death will be determined after the autopsy report. If relatives are traced, the body will be handed over to them.
