Agartala, 19th July 2024: In a shocking incident, the body of a forest worker has been mysteriously recovered causing widespread alarm in the Pulinpur area under Teliamura police station near the Assam-Agartala National Highway. The deceased’s family claims he was killed in a premeditated manner. The police have launched an investigation into the matter.
According to the family, Beat Officer Kinkar Debnath received a call from an acquaintance late last night and left his home. Since then, they were unable to reach him. They further allege that when they called Kinkar’s mobile phone twice, an unknown person answered, but they failed to speak to Kinkar himself. The family searched various locations but could not find him. Early this morning, local residents found Kinkar Debnath’s body lying by the roadside in Pulinpur.
Upon receiving the news, police and forensic teams swiftly arrived at the scene, along with the sub-divisional police officer and the district police officer. An investigation into the incident is now underway.
The family maintains that Kinkar was murdered in a calculated manner. This incident has raised serious concerns about the overall security system, as the public recovery of a forest worker’s body has pointed fingers at the effectiveness of local law enforcement.
